About
Shall We Talk was founded by three visionaries: Alex and Thomas, seasoned educators passionate about using technology to improve student learning outcomes, and Ken, an innovative engineer driven by creative uses of technology. We started Shall We Talk as an exploratory project to deliver interactive, educational content, with a shared belief that young students learn best when they participate actively.
With AI rapidly changing how we work and live, we decided to focus our project on the training and assessment of higher-level cognition skills instead of knowledge. We are placing a bet on these skills being timeless, even in a world where the frequency and importance of AI-human interactions exceed those between humans.
As we were iterating on the idea, we additionally chose to have our content reflect Hong Kong (our HQ)'s unique trilingual and multicultural environment. Hong Kong is one of the very few places in the world where students study both the Chinese and English canon as part of their mandatory education. We aim to expand to even more languages and cultures, so that anyone can access these activities and practice new skills whilst learning about great works from across the globe.
